South Routt Play and Learn brings the Family Development Center’s Newborn Network to Oak Creek with twice-weekly sessions for caregivers and young children. Each morning centers on a theme — from movement and music to big feelings and favorite books — with plenty of unstructured play mixed in. Community experts drop in throughout the month, and September includes a Labor Day parade appearance.

- Tue Sep 22 — Musical Group Time with Tabitha and Crystal: a sing-along story time to get the wiggles out
- Thu Sep 24 — Favorite Book Day: bring a book to share with the group
- Tue Sep 29 — A is for Apples Are Amazing: apple crafts, apple stories, and apple cling fun
Hayden Play and Learn is a free-flowing morning gathering for caregivers and their little ones, hosted by the Family Development Center’s Newborn Network. Each session pairs open play with a weekly theme, giving kids a chance to move, explore, and make friends while grown-ups connect with other local families. Drop in for one session or make it a weekly routine.

Books of the month: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and The Watermelon Seed. Nursery rhyme of the month is “Monkey See, Monkey Do.”
Join us for this fun-filled community event to support The Haven Assisted Living! The 6th annual OctoberFest will be a family-friendly event to bring community members and neighbors together to celebrate all things fall, while supporting older adults in Hayden. Purchase tickets at the link, children under 5 are free.
The event will feature:
- Silent auction with great local items, including Broncos tickets!
- Live music with Apple Pie and A Guy
- Flavorful Food, and Drinks from Storm Peak Brewing Company
- Kid’s activities and outdoor games
- Pumpkin decorating

The Steamboat Springs Kids Clothing Swap is on Sunday November 8, 2026 from 9am – 12pm! Bring your gently-used kids clothing and gear and shop for new-to-you items!
Drop off your gently used clean kids and baby items at the Bud Werner Memorial Library from 8am-2pm Saturday November 7th. First 30 people to drop off will receive an early bird ticket to shop the swap for 15 mins before the public on Saturday morning. You do not have to donate to swap, you don’t have to swap to donate. please bring your pregnant friends!
$5.00 donation requested but not required at the door.
Items not accepted include: Carseats, cribs and crib mattresses, books, large furniture, feeding items unless brand new in the package, breastpumps and parts, toys like puzzles or with small items must be taped together, socks and underwear only allowed if in baggy with sizes labeled. Please sort and label your clothes, if nothing else by gender please. This event is designed to help Steamboat families so please let anyone with young children know about it!

With access to all kinds of gym equipment—like trampolines, foam pits, balance beams, and mats—kids can explore at their own pace, get creative, and improve their skills while having a blast. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure environment perfect for building confidence, staying active, and making new friends.
This session open to kids ages 1 – 5 years old with their caregiver.
