Yampa River Center Grand Opening – Friends of the Yampa

Join Friends of the Yampa for a free, family-friendly event on Wednesday, June 25, from 4:00–7:00pm at 743 Oak Street in Steamboat Springs. Bring the kids and explore the new Yampa River Center, featuring the exhibit panels from the Tread of Pioneers Museum and the beloved beaver lodge from the One Book Steamboat series at the Bud Werner Memorial Library. Enjoy free drinks and snacks while you learn about the Yampa River and the center’s mission. Plus, don’t miss the chance to create a custom souvenir with live screen-printing by Ohana. Come celebrate this new hub for river education and community connection!

Music at Steamboat Mountain – Free Stranahan’s Concert Series

Music at the Mountain is back with the Free Stranahan’s Concert Series in Steamboat Square — a great family-friendly way to enjoy live music in Steamboat Springs. Bring the kids and make the most of Steamboat’s long summer days with six outdoor concerts everyone will love.

Relax with friends and family while kids dance and play, all with the stunning Steamboat mountain backdrop. With easy access to the Range Food & Drink Hall and tasty options for every age, it’s a fun night out for the whole family.

Summer Ski Jumpin’ & Jammin’ with Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club

Looking for unique kids 4th of July activities and a fun day for the whole family? Head to Howelsen Hill for the annual Jumpin’ & Jammin’ celebration! Watch 80 of the nation’s top nordic combined and ski jumping athletes fly an impressive 225 feet from the HS75 jump — it’s a thrilling sight for all ages.

Bring chairs, blankets, and a shade umbrella to relax on the grass. Enjoy delicious bites from local food trucks and sip on cold beer and cocktails from B&K Distributing and Tito’s Handmade Vodka (no outside alcohol allowed).

Yampa River Walk with Yampatika

This quiet section of the Yampa River Core Trail is perched along the river bank allowing for beautiful views close up. Depending on the time of year there are wildflowers in the spring and fall colors going into September. Your Naturalist will talk about the history of the river, local water rights, fisheries science, and more as you stroll along the Yampa River. Meet at River Creek Park, Intersection of Walton Creek Rd and HWY 40. All Ages.

Join our 1-hour guided hike daily at 10am! Or, catch our Naturalists at our interpretive table any time 10am – 2pm to see pelts and specimens from local flora and fauna, and ask any questions you have about our area. Free, No Registration Required. All Ages!

Snow Bowl Free Summer Concerts

Looking for free live music and family-friendly fun in Steamboat Springs? The Snow Bowl Free Summer Concert Series is the place to be, with outdoor shows most Wednesday and Sundays all summer long. Enjoy free concerts, a spacious lawn perfect for kids to play, indoor bowling, and delicious food and drinks. Doors open early for Happy Hour—3:00pm on Wednesdays and 4:00pm on Sundays—with music starting at 6:30pm. It’s one of the best live music events for kids and free family activities in town!
