Routt County 4-H Open House
Come learn more about 4-H at the 4-H Open House. With over 80+ projects to choose from including robotics and rocketry, cooking and cake decorating, Vet Science, shooting sports, dog, livestock, poultry and rabbit and much more – there is a project for everyone. For ages 8-18 and a Cloverbud program for ages 5-7. Come meet our project leaders, club leaders and Jr Leaders and learn about 4-H.
Trick-or-Trot Halloween at Mountain Valley Horse Resuce
The horses invite you to the ranch for MVHR’s 2nd Annual Trick or Trot on Saturday, October 25th from 1pm to 3pm for a Horse Corral Scavenger Hunt and Treats around the ranch. Bring the whole family, dress in your favorite costume and you might find that some horses also dress up and love Halloween!
Spots are limited, so please RSVP! This is a FREE community event. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person/$20 per family in support of the MVHR Rescue Herd. Please leave dogs at home even if they have a cute costume.
Hike-or-Treat Halloween Event at Yampa River State Park
For the 8th year Yampa River State Park will be hosting our Hike-or-Treat event. Get outdoors this spooky season and give to a worthwhile cause. This year’s event will feature the candy trail, a photo booth and face painting.
To get into the event please bring a non perishable food item or toiletry (tooth brushes, deodorant, shampoo etc) to be donated to our local food banks.
Foundry Halloween Run
This race benefits Foundry Steamboat Springs, which provides an opportunity for lasting recovery through an integrative body, mind, and spirit treatment program. Comfortably located in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Steamboat Springs, The Foundry provides a safe and natural setting that encourages instinctive growth for the individual as they forge a new life in their own vision.
The course takes place on a mix of trail and road that is guaranteed fun for the whole family. Halloween costumes are highly encouraged! Leashed dogs are welcome to join too. There will be Halloween treats after the race as well as fun for the whole family.

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra invites you to step into a world of magic and music with our woodwind quintet in Once Upon a Song! Families will enjoy familiar favorites like Beauty and the Beast, Under the Sea, We Don’t Talk About Bruno, and A Whole New World, along with timeless classics like Sleeping Beauty Waltz and Morning Mood from Peer Gynt.
Children are invited to dress up as their favorite characters and join the fun! Between the music, you’ll discover the enchanting sounds of the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn — and learn how these instruments bring your favorite stories to life.
