Our literacy adventure camps create new ways to experience the joys of reading and writing. At BookTrails, our students are able to experience and feel as though they are the main character in their favorite story—whether it be building a survival shelter, running through a stream bed, or sketching in a meadow. By using reading and writing as a tool to teach environmental principles, our students are given a unique perspective to view both literature and the natural world. Inspire your young innovator with a one-of-a-kind summer adventure for kids entering grades K - 6th! Exciting, hands-on challenges will spark curiosity and build their confidence as they dive into limitless STEM fun full of opportunities to imagine, experiment and create.

Our Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program is for 7th - 9th graders. LITs will gain mentoring and collaboration skills while helping guide campers throughout the week at our in-person locations. Availability may be limited.

Steamboat Springs is home to a 5 day performance running camp where we challenge ourselves, stretch our limits, and make memories and friendships to last a lifetime. Elevate Mountain Running Camp focuses on the heart and soul of an athlete. During our time together, we will explore the mountains in a way that stretches our limits and translates running into our life endeavors. Day camp and overnight options available. July 20-24, 2025.

The Steamboat Skating Club is the skater's entry into the world of US Figure Skating testing, competing and performing, fun and friendships.

The summer day camp is open to children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. We are open weekdays during the summer from 7:00 am to 5:45 pm. Our summer camp are all held primarily outside. Each morning we meet in our studio for a warm-up, then walk outside to one of our nearby parks - Little Toots, Library Park, the Yampa River, or Howelsen Hill to work on our projects in an outdoor studio setting. We provide all materials and tools for FUN mixed media projects ranging from painting and drawing, printmaking, sculpture, wood, clay, photography, land art, and more!

We will spend most of our time on the Upper Yampa in the more mellow sections learning basic river safety, paddling skills, and ecology of the river in kayaks and on paddleboards. With more experienced kids, we will venture further downstream in smaller groups to encourage and have fun practicing their newly learned skills. Join our camp to meet new friends and experience the fun that can be had on the water.

During the summer, June through July (T/W/TH), we offer a summer camp program. This program varies each summer based on the needs of the community. These needs are evaluated every spring (typically in March) and are often for toddlers, preschool/PreK, and lower elementary school students. We spend nearly all of our day outside, playing, hiking, riding bikes, in the sprinkler and mud, catching bugs, and loving the beauty of North Routt!

We are excited to offer Summer Camp at Old Town Hot Springs again this year! Our popular camp is for kids ages 5 – 10 and is full of fun activities at the facility, including climbing, kids yoga, rotating fitness activities, hiking, swim lessons, and free swim. Our camp is offered Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 1 PM throughout the summer.

Step into the world of contemporary circus at Perry-Mansfield’s dynamic 3-Week Circus Intensive, designed for passionate young artists ready to elevate their skills and immerse themselves in the artistry of movement, performance, and creative expression.

Over the course of three transformative weeks, students will train daily in:

• Aerial Arts – silks, hoop, sling, and dynamic sequencing
• Acrobatics – tumbling progressions, partner acrobatics, and physical conditioning
• Balance Arts – hand balancing, flexibility, and apparatus fundamentals
• Clowning & Physical Theater – character, comedic timing, and ensemble play

Led by experienced circus professionals, this intensive blends rigorous physical training with joyful exploration, giving students the tools to expand their technique, deepen their artistry, and grow their confidence both on and off the stage.

Explorers: Ages 6 – 8 | Pioneers: Ages 9 – 10

This isn’t just a day camp—it’s a front-row seat to the magic of the arts! Our students dive headfirst into everything Perry-Mansfield has to offer. Throughout the week, campers will:

• Explore the Stage: Discover the fundamentals of both Dance and Theater, finding new ways to move and tell stories.

• Unique Campus Experiences: Engage in unmounted equestrian activities and get a “feet-on-the-ground” introduction to the gravity-defying world of Circus Arts.

• Behind the Scenes: Learn a touch of Production Magic! Students get a peek at what it takes to build a show by interacting with other programs and seeing professional-level productions in action.

• Creative Expression: Daily sessions in Visual Arts and Creative Writing allow every camper to find their unique voice.

Every week culminates in a short performance on the final day, where students can share their new skills with family and friends. Plus, lunch is included every day!

Rocky Mountain Adventure Hockey Camp (RMAHC)

High-altitude Adventure Hockey Camp in the world-class ski resort of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
The Rocky Mountain Adventure Hockey Camp (RMAHC) will include the standard features of all RMHS Summer Skill Development Camps and incorporate the outdoor expertise of some of the world's most accomplished mountaineering athletes. These professionally trained mountaineering experts will work with your child and train them in the standard techniques and principles utilized by Mountain Rescue Teams across the country. RMAHC will offer players this exceptional outdoor adventure camp while continuing to provide the world-class on-ice instruction RMHS is renowned for. Ice time will not be forfeited, and instructor quality will not be compromised. This camp will provide our customers with the best of both worlds: world-class hockey instruction with world-class Outdoor Education and activities.

Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory is an intimate summer music program for string players including violin, viola, cello and piano featuring musical excellence, physical conditioning, leadership training and a balanced approach to living. We do all this through the passionate, persistent pursuit of perfection, which reveals the extraordinary within us.

Our teachers are dedicated to sharing the music we love through chamber music performance and coaching.

Our students have come from all over the United States and from China, Japan, Germany, Israel and Mexico. They make friends to last a lifetime and their summer experience will remain with them long after the notes of our last concerts have melted away.

Service Learning Crew (SLC) provides education and experience in citizenship, volunteerism, community service, and self-development for youth based in Routt and Moffat Counties. Service projects include gardening, planting trees and flowers, trash pick-up, light trail work, and other community beautification projects. SLC enhances youth's sense of belonging and community connection through meaningful outdoor-based service projects, education, and group recreation activities. ​ Sessions are two weeks long, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Crews have ten to twelve mixed-gender crew members (youth) who are supervised by two crew leaders. Crew leads supervise , facilitate education curriculum, and help engage youth in the conservation-based projects in the community.

The Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) provides an incredible opportunity for youth ages 14-18 to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience. Each year, more than 200 participants join forces to complete transformative conservation projects across 10 counties in Northwest Colorado.
Through the YCC, participants engage in projects that range from trail building and environmental restoration to managing invasive species and improving wildlife habitats. These efforts leave a lasting legacy, enhancing both the natural environment and local communities. Being part of an RMYC crew means working with a dedicated team of 8-10 peers and two experienced crew leaders over two weeks or four weeks. Crews take on challenging, sustainability-focused projects during the day and camp together under the stars at night, forging strong bonds and unforgettable memories.
The YCC experience combines hard work, leadership development, and personal growth. Participants face demanding conditions but leave with new skills, enduring friendships, and a sense of pride in their accomplishments. It’s an adventure that shapes both the individual and the environment, creating a positive ripple effect that resonates far beyond the seasons end.

For ages 11-18, Outdoor Explorers offers activites focusing on skill development. Each session is themed around outdoor recreation and campers will engage in developing outdoor skills commonly used in Northwest Colorado include hiking, outdoor education/safety, and more!

Designed for 18+ years of age, Trailblazers offers participants the opportunity to be outside, recreate, socialize with friends and enjoy our vast backyard. Activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, swimming and disc golf.

The STARS Western Adventure Camp is for a variety of ages with cognitive disabilities and is designed to maximize the positive effects of therapeutic horseback riding and outdoor recreation. It consists of five full days of horseback riding in the morning and a variety of other outdoor activities in the afternoon. Participants will learn about the magical connection between people and horses. They will acquire the skills needed to not only take care of these beautiful animals, but also experience the thrill of riding a horse each morning.

At our Dance & Create camps, our excellent dance instructors will expose your student to Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance styles. Each week has its own theme incorporated into choreography and costume. Camp activities include dance class, dance games, stretching, arts and crafts, outdoor play, face painting and more! Parents will enjoy a dance recital on the final day.9:00 am - 4:00 pm or half day 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. Ages 4-8 years.

Our Music Fun Time Day Camp is a great way to introduce your young child to music! We lay the foundation for transitioning to the instrument of each child's choosing as they get to experience a variety of instruments from percussion and keyboard to strings and winds. Meantime, campers learn about musical notation and we solidify their knowledge with fun crafts, artwork and games. We limit each camp session to 8 campers so that maximum attention can be given to each child. Ages 3 - 4 are in the morning session. Ages 5 - 7 are in the afternoon session.

At Rock U., your student will be coached by our expert instructors to play various genres of Rock music on an instrument they already know how to play, but now they can play it in an ensemble! They will learn how to operate a sound system and will prepare a concert for parents on the final day. For ages 9-17.

Steamboat Climbing Collective offers Steamboat's only Kids' Indoor Climbing Summer Camp. We had so much FUN last summer and can’t wait until Summer 2026. A combination of new and old games, with the addition of blacklight climbing this summer, will be one to remember.

SCC’s summer camp is for all levels of climbers; grouped by age, climbers explore all areas of the gym, including roped climbing, bouldering, and, of course, our fun upstairs area.  Kids play climbing games, learn climbing techniques, and, most of all, have fun.

Each day will be divided up to help skaters develop in all areas pertaining to figure skating. Skaters will spend time on and off the ice. On ice classes will include spins, skating skills, jumps, power, edges, and more. Off ice classes will include stretching, endurance, strength, power, dance, etc. Summer camp will be the week of June 9th-13th at the Howelsen Ice Arena. There will be full day and half day options based on skill level.

The Steamboat Soccer Junior Academy designed for the 5-8 year-old athlete with the same passion, fun, and development of our Youth and High School camps, is a program tailored specifically for the rising stars. ZPro's coaches train international goalkeepers around the world as well as college and youth goalkeepers around the United States. Join Fara Tolno from Guinea, West Africa and long-time educator Angela Carroll for FOUR fantastic days of cultural arts classes with an opportunity to perform at the Depot on evening of Friday August 15th. Youth ages 7-12 are invited for drum, dance, song, games, art and more each day. We would love to share a fun and engaging week with your child!

This camp will introduce kids to Track and Field events. Kids can run, jump, & throw....while having an action packed week of pure fun and expert coaching. We will work on team relays, starting blocks (even for the littles), high jump, hurdles, long jump, and a modified throws event. Our amazing SSHS Track and Field/Cross Country athletes and coaches will help to coach and mentor the young athletes at camp. The camp will consist of two groups. K-5th grade will be broken into appropriate age based groups, to maximize their fun and learning. The middle school group will be incoming 6-9th graders. This group will work on specific techniques for events, but in a fun environment. Each day the athletes will get to watch the high school athletes (and some of our returning college athletes) provide demonstrations of their own events, such as Pole Vault, High Jump, Shot Put, Hurdles and more.

Learn practice techniques, play chamber music with distinguished artists and faculty from your Steamboat Symphony Orchestra. Summer Immersion is a week-long, half-day camp in Steamboat Springs with a focus on chamber ensembles and string orchestra immersion for violin, viola, cello and double bass. You’ll be coached and conducted by Maestro Ernest Richardson while playing alongside lead strings instructors from the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra and strings faculty from the collaborating organization Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory.

TENNIS, PICKLEBALL AND SO MUCH MORE! Every week for ages 6-13. Each camp day includes on-court time for tennis and/or pickleball plus off-court time for varying fun activities such as badminton, ping pong, field games, arts & crafts, water balloons, awards, and more. Supervised lunch/play session from 12:30pm - 2:00pm, if desired. Can combine with the Summer Rec Tennis and Competitive Edge Camp for afternoon camp.

Each week includes tennis and pickleball court time, field games, and arts and crafts. Kids will learn basic hand eye coordination with fun games on and off the court. Each game played helps with the fundamentals of racquet and paddle sports. For ages 3-5. It's never too early to introduce kids to the joys of court sports!

Continue your tennis journey this summer. Sessions are for all levels -- we will separate kids into groups by age/skill when they arrive. We will work on strokes and technique as we play fun games! Can combine with the Summer Court Sports Fun Camp for morning camp.

SSWSC programs are designed to make the most of summer in Steamboat, with biking, skateboarding, water ramp/trampoline, and strength/physical literacy programs in three, three-week sessions, as well as dryland training and camps in all of our sports that prepare athletes to excel and develop skills in their winter sports. The three-week session format for youth programs provides the flexibility and opportunity for kids to sample different sports during the summer, develop a broad base of skills, and find the sports they have a passion for. This gives kids the opportunity to participate in multiple sports each summer, taking advantage of everything the SSWSC and other sport programs in our community have to offer.

Summer Spirit Camp is our version of Vacation Bible School—packed with music, crafts, games, storytelling, and creative activities that help kids explore God’s love in exciting and meaningful ways. We empower young women through mountain biking to create brighter futures and build stronger communities. Recognizing that we all start from different places, we work to remove barriers to mountain biking. But we know it’s not about the bike. It’s about the transformational powers of belonging and self-fulfillment that the bike provides. That’s why we call it The Cycle Effect.

The Cycle Effect works to provide young women equal opportunity and access to the sport of mountain biking. We aim to serve 70% of participants who identify as Latina and/or Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and work to remove financial barriers while supporting the social-emotional well-being of our participants. By centering our values of equity, compassion, belonging, thriving, courage, and fun, we are committed to creating an organization that allows female-identifying and non-binary participants the opportunity to create brighter futures and build stronger communities.

This week long camp is designed specifically for young riders who identify as female including trans and cis, as well as non-binary kids. Our inclusive, safe and fun learning space welcomes all skill levels. Young riders will have ample opportunities to practice basic biking handling skills in order to build more comfort and confidence on and off the bike while exploring the trails on Emerald. In addition to learning bike skills, this camp includes mindset tools integrated into our daily bike sessions and community building to foster camaraderie during camp.

We offer various 3-5 day backpacking trips in the White River National Forest to youth ages 10-15 and private groups curated to your needs!

During this four day, three night expedition, campers will explore the vast backcountry on the historic land of the Ute tribes. Today, this land is managed by the Blanco Ranger District, in the western Flattops region of the White River National Forest. This trip is a through hike, running from point A to point B. Participants will move camp at least twice during this 3 night trip. Underway campers will enhance leadership skills, LNT principles, identify flora and fauna, create lasting relationships, and social emotional skills, orienteer with map and compass and enhance key backcountry skills. No previous experience needed!

During this three day, two night expedition, campers will explore the vast backcountry on the historic land of the Ute tribes. This will be a fun week at Warehome Studios, trying new shapes and sizes of wheel-thrown pottery - for kids who have taken at least one previous pottery wheel class. We will create cups, bowls and plates on the wheel. Students will refine their trimming techniques, attach handles and add creative decorative elements to make their pieces especially unique.

Date: Monday - Thursday, July 7-10th, 1-3pm + July 16th (glazing), 1-3pm

Please join us for a magical summer under the trees and by the creek on this heart-centered land. We'll be spending our mornings exploring our sun-filled forest together and our afternoons relaxing in the shade and taking adventure walks. All class focuses are seamlessly woven into our summer nature immersion program.

All weeks of camp include a fun and balanced approach to the day; blending activities with free play, collaborative group play, music and storytelling. And of course, we enjoy eating together--all campers please bring a hearty snack and water bottle, full day campers also bring a packed lunch.

This camp is for ages 2.5 - 6 years old.

Discover your own backyard by embarking on a 4-day comprehensive river class on our stunning, wild and free, Yampa River! No previous river experience is required to participate in this class. The main goal of this program is to empower youth to travel safely in whitewater river conditions while falling in love with one of the most important resources here in the Yampa Valley. This class will create opportunities for the youth of Northwest Colorado to get their foot in the door with beginner river skills and local river knowledge.

Due to high demand the Friends of the Yampa Youth River Camp, dates will have a pre-registration period starting on Feb. 15 and closing on March 3. The “Intent to Register” form provides priority to residents of the Yampa Valley, and is developed to improve equitable access. Applicants will be contacted on March 4, and the accepted will be provided with a key for registration. If not registered by March 10, all spots unclaimed will be available in open enrollment. Open enrollment will start on March 11, if available and will remain open until camps are full. Scholarships will be available until camps reach capacity. No river experience is necessary, just the willingness to engage in camp activities.

This free, 5-day trip down Lodore Canyon in Dinosaur National Monument is open to students entering grades 10-12, with preference given to previous attendees of the Friends of the Yampa Youth River Camps.

Each group will have a weekly theme to guide their exploration and get to experience a field trip each day to locations all around Steamboat and the Yampa Valley. Campers get to go on hikes, play fun games, conduct experiments, create art projects, and so much more! Each child who visits Yampatika gets to go on a field trip each day they come to camp. We go all over from places like local parks and trails, museums, ranches, gardens, and State Parks. We also partner with lots of awesome organizations to help expand the experiences we are able to offer. We always have so much to explore!

We are super excited to be here at Yampatika to once again be offering Backpacking
as part of our Camp Programs! We believe that those who know more about our
environment and how it works are more likely to make choices that help us take better
care of this place that we all share. Our revitalized Backpacking Program, the Wilderness
Rangers, will allow us to continue that opportunity with one of the underserved age
groups in our community - 12 - 14-year-olds.

Young Authors & Artists Camp is a one-of-a-kind summer camp where you can write, read, act and create the stories, articles, plays and poems that are inside your soul, just begging to be published! A top-notch writing teacher and a published author and artist will guide you in your quest at creativity and help you to realize the writer, actor, and artist within! This is the only camp that helps you discover your own unique voice. Cannot wait to meet you and hear your incredible stories! 5th - 8th graders.
