Renting baby gear is easy in Steamboat… here are a few companies that can deliver and pickup items to your residence.
Local Spots for Buying Baby and Kids Gear
If you don’t want to rent, you can always buy gear locally. Here are a few suggestions for lightly used or new gear!
- Boomerang Sports Exchange – This second-hand gear store has a great selection for adults and some kids items too!
- LiftUp – This excellent thrift store has a good selection of kids gear. As a bonus you are shopping local, being environmentally friendly by buying used, and all purchases benefit those in town who need support.
- Ski Haus – Has a great selection of kids outdoors gear.
- Walmart – We love ordering online and then having it delivered to our car in the parking lot. No hauling kids in and out of car-seats!
- Deja Vu – If you have tweens or teens, or are looking for adult summer or winter clothing, this is a beautifully curated consignment store that always has a great selection of clothes, jackets, shoes and more!
What to Do with Gear When You Leave
If you’re visiting and don’t have space to take gear home, here are a few options:
- Facebook Marketplace – List on the local Facebook Marketplace. Here’s instructions on how to do that. You can also post in the local Buy Nothing Steamboat, CO and Surrounding Area. Make sure you check you Facebook Messages to coordinate with people in a timely manner.
- Donate to Lift Up – This local non-profit welcomes donations of gently used baby, kids and adult gear. They accept donations on Wednesday and Friday 10 AM to 4 PM, and the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month 11 AM – 3 PM. It’s on the way to the airport. Check here for more details on what can be donated.
- Deja Vu – You can consign adult-sized clothing and shoes with Deja Vu and earn cash or store-credit.
