Steamboat Symphony Summer Immersion

Spend a joyful, high-energy week making music with your Steamboat Symphony Orchestra! SSO Summer Immersion offers focused, inspiring camps for young string players and developing woodwind and brass musicians. Students build strong technique, play in ensembles, work with experienced teaching artists, and grow in confidence, all in a fun, supportive, community-centered environment. Whether your child is just beginning their musical journey or continuing to advance, Summer Immersion provides meaningful instruction, collaboration, and connection through music.

Young Strings Summer Camp
Designed especially for our youngest string players, this camp builds strong foundational technique through small ensembles, musical storytelling, composer adventures, and interactive music games that bring learning to life. Students develop confidence, creativity, and connection while having fun in a nurturing setting.

Who Can Join?
• All String Sprouts students
• String players working through Suzuki Books 1–2

Evening Masterclasses for Intermediate & Advanced String Players
In addition to the morning camps, intermediate and advanced string students may register for optional evening masterclasses. These sessions provide deeper musical exploration, individualized instruction, and focused artistic growth in an intimate setting.

Woodwind & Brass Summer Camp
A dynamic and inspiring week for developing wind players. Students work closely with instrument specialists, perform in ensembles, explore improvisation, receive focused individual instruction, and strengthen musicianship in a collaborative setting. This camp is designed to elevate skills while fostering friendship and teamwork.

Who Can Join?
• Brass and woodwind students with at least one year of experience
• Students through grade 12

Age Range: 6 - 18 years old

Camp Weeks:
  • June 22, 2026

Day Length: Half Day

Camp Timeframe: 9:00am - 12:30pm

Weekly Cost: $300 - $399

Location: Steamboat Mountain School – Emerald Campus

Registration Opens: February 26, 2026

Note: The minimum requirements are age 6, Suzuki Book 1 and higher.
