DESCRIPTION:A children’s breath\, movement & sound meditation class. Join us for Little Yogis\, a playful and peaceful class designed to help children explore breath\, movement\, mindfulness\, and sound in a gentle\, age-appropriate way. \nChildren will be guided through simple breath awareness\, three child-friendly sun salutations\, a short meditation\, and a calming sound meditation with bowls\, chimes\, ocean drums\, and other soothing instruments. After listening\, children will also have time to gently explore the instruments themselves — practicing kind hands\, listening ears\, and mindful sound-making. \nThis class supports body awareness\, emotional regulation\, focus\, creativity\, confidence\, and calm. Children do not need any prior yoga or meditation experience. They are invited to move\, breathe\, listen\, rest\, and discover at their own pace. \nLittle Yogis is a welcoming space where children practice mindfulness\, kindness toward themselves\, each other\, the space\, and the instruments.

With access to all kinds of gym equipment—like trampolines\, foam pits\, balance beams\, and mats—kids can explore at their own pace\, get creative\, and improve their skills while having a blast. It’s a relaxed\, no-pressure environment perfect for building confidence\, staying active\, and making new friends. \nMonday\, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00am – 10:00am. This session open to kids ages 1 – 6 years old. \nPlease call to check opening hours during holiday times.

DESCRIPTION:Is your child learning to ride a bike? \nThis class is open to kids who are new to riding or still building confidence on a bike. Children will practice key skills like pushing and gliding\, balancing\, steering\, and stopping safely while building confidence alongside same-aged peers. SUMMARY:Story Baskets at the Steamboat Library
DESCRIPTION:Stories come to life with hands-on\, play based fun!\nWe will re-imagine a beloved children’s book with a Story Basket! Story baskets are a tool that can help children develop early literacy skills\, practice storytelling\, and engage in imaginative play. We use items based upon the characters and/or settings in our books to support a child’s retelling\, re-imagining\, or re-engaging with a story. Many of these story basket activities will have the option of a to-go bag so you can continue the fun at home! These baskets will be geared towards toddlers & preschoolers\, ages 2-5. This program is free\, space is limited and will run on a first come\, first serve basis.\nEvery Wednesday at 10:30am in the Children’s Storytime Room.
