SUMMARY:51st Annual Cowboy Downhill at Steamboat Mountain
DESCRIPTION:It all began over 50 years ago when Billy Kidd\, Steamboat’s director of skiing\, and Larry Mahan\, six-time all-around World Champion cowboy\, decided to invite a few of the ProRodeo stars to Steamboat for a day of skiing. The cowboys had such a great time that the downhill has become the most popular event of the season with over 100 of the best professional rodeo cowboys competing in the most unique ski rodeo in the country. \nThe Cowboy Downhill is an annual ski rodeo in Steamboat Springs\, Colorado\, where professional rodeo cowboys swap their saddles for skis to compete in a unique race. The event includes a timed dual slalom race where competitors ski through gates\, jump\, lasso a person\, saddle a horse\, and cross the finish line\, followed by a chaotic “Stampede” free-for-all race. It’s held in conjunction with the National Western Stock Show and combines the town’s ski culture with its Western heritage.

SUMMARY:4-Week Kids After School Pottery Wheel Class (Winter Session)
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays\, January 22 – February 12\, 3:45pm – 5:45pm \nInstructor: Sterling Smith \nCost: $390\, includes instructor fee and clay and glaze materials (max. 15lbs clay per child) \nAge: 8 and up \nKids love to play in the mud! In this class\, they will learn how to wedge and center their clay on the wheel and then proceed to the fun and messy throwing process of creating cylinders\, cups\, bowls and possibly plates\, depending on progress during class. Students will also learn to trim their pots on the wheel when the clay has stiffened to “leather hard” stage. They will then decorate and glaze their work over the course of several weeks. All pieces will be fired to 2150 degrees Fahrenheit for functional use in the home and kitchen.

DESCRIPTION:A fun and mindful after-school activity designed to help kids ages 4-8 move\, stretch\, and unwind! \nWHEN:\nThursday from 4:30 – 5:30 pm\, starting January 8 – March 26 \nWHAT:\nThis 12-week kids yoga program introduces young yogis to balance\, breathwork\, and playful movement in a supportive environment. It’s the perfect after-school option for kids to practice yoga while parents take BODYPUMP\, work out\, or relax in the hot springs. These classes are fun\, mindful\, connective\, and the benefits are many\, including increased focus\, emotional and body awareness\, access to stillness\, social regulation\, and physical foundations of strength and flexibility. \nINVESTMENT:\n$100 for the 12 sessions (members or non-members) or $10 drop-in (participants must register at the front desk). Members may register online using the members portal\, and guests may register here. Members and guests can also register by stopping by or calling the OTHS front desk at 970-879-1828. \nINSTRUCTOR BIO:\nHalli is an elementary educator of 10 years with 20 years of experience in childcare. She’s been practicing yoga since she was a teenager and teaching kids’ yoga since her early 20s.
