Where the Buffalo Roam Archaeology Event

Join western Colorado bison project archaeologist Holly “Sunny” Shelton from Dominique’s Archaeological Research Group to explore the bison-human relationship in Colorado. This event is recommended for ages 6 through 12. It’s a free program with the Steamboat Springs History Museum, formerly known as the Tread of Pioneers Museum.
Kids will:
- examine real bison bones
- get hands-on with artifacts
- meet a real archaeologist
- discover how people and bison lived in Colorado long ago
There is also an adult program with overlapping topics on July 10th at noon.
